PROVO, Utah -- The Thunderbird men's golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the 2019 Ping Cougar Classic at Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah on Friday.
Jake Vincent was the top player for the T-Birds, shooting a 74 in the first round and followed that up with a 72 to finish the day at 146. He ended the day in a tie for 39th on the leaderboard.
Ali Hameed was second for the Thunderbirds, carding a 148 (73, 75) to end the day in a tie for 53rd.
Ryker Smith finished the day tied for 60th, shooting a 150 (73, 77). Both Ethan Gray and Jaden Milne shot a 153 for SUU, finishing play tied with each other in 79th.
As a team the Thunderbirds are tied for 14th in the field, carding a team score of 595 (296, 299). Â
Playing as an individual, Hayden Plewe finished tied for 74th after shooting a 152 (78, 74).
Denver leads the event from the team perspective, while Brigham Young's Peter Kuest is the top player on the leaderboard.
The third and final round will be played on Saturday in Provo.
