SOUTHERN UTAH THUNDERBIRDS

Rose Ketmayura

Ketmayura joins the T-Birds at the helm of the women’s tennis team after spending the last two seasons as the head women’s tennis coach of Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York. During her first year as the LIU head coach, Ketmayura led her team to the Conference Finals.

Native of Texas, Ketmayura launched her coaching career at Colgate University in 2006 where she served as an assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach for two seasons. Ketmayura then spent a season as an assistant women’s tennis coach at Dartmouth College before spending time as an assistant director of the Adidas Tennis Camp, an assistant Head Pro of the Texarkana Country Club, and a private competitive junior tennis coach in Huntsville, AL.

“Could not be more excited for Rose to join the T-Bird family,” Butikofer said. “Her strong leadership and unique blend of experience will be a great asset as we look to take our women’s tennis program to new heights.”

During her collegiate playing years, Ketmayura lettered four times at the University of Nebraska where she played first doubles and 1-6 singles.

Ketmayura looks forward to the growth and potential of Southern Utah tennis.

“I want to thank Jason and the SUU athletic department for this opportunity. I look forward to being a part of the Cedar City community,” Ketmayura said. “And I cannot wait to see the strides we make each year and how good we can become.”

Ketmayura received a bachelor’s degree in business administration for the University of Nebraska in 2005 and will complete her master’s degree in business administration in August of 2016.
