Elmhurst, Ill. - May 13 - Southern Utah senior Norian James, and junior Brittany Henderson were honored by the Summit League in an announcement made from league headquarters Thursday.
James, an outfielder received First-Team All Summit League honors. Henderson, a catcher/utility player received Second-Team recognition.
James lead the Thunderbirds in batting with a .354 average (.407 in Summit League play). She also lead the league, and finished the season 23rd in the nation in stolen bases, averaging 0.60 per game. James graduated with a dual major in Athletic Training and Physical Education and Human Performance in commencement exercises April 30.
Henderson spent most of her 2010 time behind the plate for the Thunderbirds, batting .330 overall, and .417 in league play. She lead SUU in bases-on-balls (14) translating into a team-leading .423 on-base percentage. A three-year contributor, Henderson reached base on every at-bat, caught a Friday doubleheader, and another game on Saturday in the Thunderbirds' April 2-3 series against Centenary.
She returns to the Thunderbirds next season for her final year, majoring in Nutrition.
Norian James is from Clinton, Utah. Her parents are Brian and Norma James. Brittany Henderson is from Las Vegas. Her parents are Fred and Angela Henderson.
