CEDAR CITY, Utah, Sept. 25 - Southern Utah University
free safety Miles Killebrew has been named this week's national co-Freshman of the Week by The Sports Network for his performance
in the Thunderbirds' 49-42 win at Portland State last Saturday.
Killebrew, a redshirt freshman from Henderson, Nev.
(Foothill HS) tallied 15 tackles in the game, including 11 solo stops. It was
the highest tackles total by an SUU freshman since the 2002 season when Steve
Smith tallied 21 at Arkansas State and the most by any T-Bird since 2009. One
of Killebrew's tackles went for a loss and he also broke up a pass against the
Vikings.
Killebrew shared the award with Samford's James Bradberry,
who had a pair of interceptions in the Bulldogs' 25-21 win over Western Carolina.
