SEATTLE, Wash. – Southern Utah hit off its road trip with a 89-75 loss to Seattle University.
"We came up short vs a hot Seattle team. We assisted on 18 of 25 makes and out-rebounded Seattle, but unfortunately we did not get enough stops on the defensive end," head coach
Todd Simon said. "We had a couple outstanding performances with James and Randy."
Highlighting the Thunderbirds in the loss were
James McGee, who finished the game with a season-high 27 points, including eight three-pointers, along with
Randy Onwuasor who finished the game with 12 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
SUU finished the game with a 36.8 shooting percentage from the field to Seattle University's 58.5%.
SUU took a quick 7-5 lead over the Redhawks to begin the game before the match-up knotted at 13-13. Seattle U. pulled ahead for a 37-29 lead at halftime before extending their lead to 89-75 to conclude the game.
The Thunderbird bench put up 27 points in the loss.
