CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Southern Utah Thunderbirds climbed to No. 21 in this week's FCS Coaches' Poll after defeating Southeastern Louisiana 28-23 in Eccles Coliseum on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Receiving 103 points in the Coaches' Poll, Southern Utah jumped two spots from last week's No. 23 ranking.

Southern Utah (1-1) earned the No. 21 ranking after rushing 54 times for 215 yards in their home opening victory over SLU. The Thunderbirds finished the game with 28 first downs, 222 passing yards, 437 yards of total offense, and two interceptions.

The T-Birds will take a bye this weekend before returning to action on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 6:00 p.m. as Southern Utah hosts Portland State for its homecoming game.
