Megan McBride Earns Second MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week Award

LOGAN, Utah - Southern Utah sophomore Megan McBride has been named Co-MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week following her performance in the Flippin' Birds' home opener Friday night.

McBride scored a 9.850 on vault to kick off the meet as she was the very first competitor of the night. As a team the Thunderbirds went on to score a 48.925 on the event. The Orem, Utah native shared the vault event champion title with Boise State's Rachel Obmann and Mary Frances Bir as they both went on to score 9.850 and have been named Co-MRGC Vault Specialists of the Week as well.

This is the second weekly award of the season for McBride and the second of her career.

The Flippin' Birds will travel to Michigan next week as they take on the Central Michigan Chippewas in their third road meet of the season.
