Lady T-Birds Set to Host Fighting Hawks and Bears Inside America First Event Center

CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah women's basketball team will host the North Dakota Fighting Hawks on Thursday February 13 followed by a battle with the Bears of North Dakota on Saturday February 15.

Last Time Out

Last week the Thunderbirds hosted the Lumberjacks of Northern Arizona for their only game of the week. Kiana Johnson continued her hot streak with 22 points and seven rebounds, but the T-Birds ultimately fell to NAU 72-55.

Two other Thunderbirds had double-digit points in the match. Ashley Larsen finished with 14 points and eight rebounds and Whitney Johnson had 11 points with seven rebounds.

Scouting Report: North Dakota Fighting Hawks (11-13, 4-9 BSC)

The Fighting Hawks will come into Thursday's contest having won just one of their last five Big Sky matchups. They were able to beat Weber State last Thursday at home 80-67. The win over the Wildcats gave head coach Travis Brewster his 100th career win.

Junior forward Lexi Klabo has been the leading scorer for North Dakota this season averaging 17.6 points per game. She also leads the team and the Big Sky in rebounding with an average of 9.1 per game. Klabo was named to the Big SKy All-Conference Second Team last season.

Scouting Report: Northern Colorado Bears (18-6, 10-3 BSC)

Northern Colorado will head into the weekend riding a five-game winning streak and sitting at the top of the conference standings with a 10-3 record in Big Sky play. As a team, the Bears lead the conference in free throw percentage (.821) and are second in field goal percentage (.445). A pair of Savannah's lead the Bears' offensively. Redshirt junior Savannah Smith averages 17.9 points per game while senior Savannah Scott averages 16.9.

The Bears will take on Northern Arizona in Flagstaff before coming to Cedar City.

Game Info

Thursday's game against the Fighting Hawks is set to tip off at 6:30 p.m. Mountain time in the America First Event Center. It will be the Lady T-Birds' "Pink Game" where they will honor breast cancer survivors prior to the start of the game. The Lil' Dribblers will be the halftime entertainment and it will also be couple's night in the AFEC. Fans and their significant others can get into the game for just five dollars and single tickets are priced at three dollars each.

Saturday's matchup with the Bears is set for 12:30 p.m. in the AFEC. Both games can be streamed live on PlutoTV channel 236. Live stats can be found at suutbirds.com.
