CEDAR CITY, Utah - Following their first win over a Big Sky opponent this season, the Southern Utah women's basketball team will head back out on the road this Saturday January 12 to take on the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
Last Time Out
Last week the Thunderbirds played their first Big Sky games inside of the America First Event Center and split the two, falling to Idaho State 57-69 and beating Weber State in overtime 84-79.
Harley Hansen and Ashley Larsen both had career games to pace the Thunderbirds in the victory over the Wildcats. Hansen led all scorers with 28 points and also pulled in four rebounds. Larsen set a new career-high in scoring with 25 points and tied her career-highs in steals with four and blocks with three. She also led the team in rebounds with eight.
Hansen is now 15th in the Big Sky in scoring, averaging 12.9 points per game, and 3rd in steals, averaging 2.8 per game. Larsen is 4th in the conference in blocked shots, averaging 1.5 blocks per game.
Scouting Report: Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (5-8, 1-3 BSC)
After starting the season 4-1, the Lumberjacks will come into the weekend with a 5-8 record. They have lost seven of their last eight games, with their only win during that stretch coming over Weber State last Thursday.
The Lumberjacks have a 3-2 record at home, taking down Fresno State, California Baptist, and the Wildcats inside of the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome.
Senior Kaleigh Paplow leads the 'Jacks in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.3 ppg and 7.5 rpg.
