CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Following a tough loss on the road to at the hands of Northern Colorado, the Thunderbird men's basketball team will be back in action on Monday afternoon as they travel to Flagstaff to square off against Northern Arizona for the second time this season.
Last Time Out
The Thunderbirds had a rough first half against the UNC Bears, and weren't able to rebound as SUU fell 79-68 and saw their four game winning streak come to an end.
Brandon Better led the scoring effort for the T-Birds, finishing with 22 points. Freshman Harrison Butler finished with 15, and fellow first year player Maizen Fausett had 10 in the contest.
For the Bears, Big Sky leading scorer Jordan Davis finished with 36 points on 14-of-17 shooting.
Opponent Preview: Northern Arizona (5-12, 3-4 Big Sky)
Since the T-Birds and Lumberjacks last squared off they fell to Sacramento State and knocked off Portland State to move to 3-4 in Big Sky play. NAU will host Northern Colorado on Saturday night before the T-Birds come to visit on Monday.
Bernie Andre continues to lead the Lumberjacks scoring effort, averaging 13 points per game. Carlos Hines isn't far behind, and neither is Ted McCree, as they average 12.4 and 11.8 respectively.
Last Time vs. The Lumberjacks
When the T-Birds and Lumberjacks played on January 12 it went right down to the wire, and a game winning shot by Dre Marin pushed the T-Birds past their Grand Canyon rival.
Cameron Oluyitan was the team's leading scorer with 18 points, while Butler and Jacob Calloway both put in 17 points.
For the Lumberjacks, both Bernie Andre and Ted McCree finished with 19 points.

On Brandon's performance against UNC…
"Brandon can catch fire, and once he had a stretch where he saw a couple go in he kept making them and he did a good job helping us get points on the board," SUU head coach Todd Simon said.
On facing the Lumberjacks again…
"It'll be a dog fight," he said. "NAU is playing good basketball and we're going to have to make shots and play improved defense from what we did against UNC. We'll get back to the grind and focus on what we've got to do."
