CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Southern Utah women's basketball team fell to the No. 5/7 Oregon State Beavers Thursday afternoon 95-45 in Oregon.
Harley Hansen led the Thunderbirds in scoring with 12 points. Rebecca Cardenas led the team in rebounding with five, but was held to just six points. Darri Frandsen had eight points and was 2-for-2 from the three-point line.
The Beavers had six different players reach double-digits in scoring, led by freshman Taylor Jones who had 18.
Hansen scored 10 of her 12 points in the first quarter, helping the Thunderbirds keep pace with an OSU team that started hot and never cooled off. They trailed by just 11 after one quarter.
The T-Birds scored just 16 points over the next two quarters and the Beavers took a 36-point lead into the final quarter of play.
The Thunderbirds put together a better quarter in the fourth, putting up 14 points, but the Beavers had their best quarter of the day with 28 points to take home the 95-45 win.
The Lady T-Birds will return home to host Oral Roberts on December 3rd in the America First Event Center.
