Thunderbirds Set for Road Rematches With Wildcats and Bengals

CEDAR CITY, Utah - After recently completing a four-game homestand, the Southern Utah women's basketball team will be back on the road this weekend traveling up Interstate 15 to take on Weber State and Idaho State.

Last Time Out

The Thunderbirds picked up their sixth win of the season and third Big Sky win last Thursday with a 73-63 victory over Eastern Washington. Rebecca Cardenas and Ashley Larsen were the leading scorers for the T-Birds, both finishing with 17 points. Cardenas also had nine rebounds, five assists, and was 3-for-4 from the free throw line. Larsen added seven rebounds and made seven free throws.

The T-Birds also hosted the Idaho Vandals for a game they lost 70-82. Breanu Reid had 19 points in the loss. Cardenas, Larsen, and Jessica Chatman also finished in double-digits.

Scouting Report: Weber State Wildcats (4-17, 1-10 BSC)

The Thunderbirds and the Wildcats played in Cedar City on January 5 with the Thunderbirds coming away with a 84-79 overtime win.

Since then the Wildcats have gone 1-6 with their only win coming over Northern Colorado in Greeley. Jaiamoni Welch-Coleman continues to be the leading scorer for Weber State, averaging 16.6 points per game. She had 13 points in the win over the Bears.

Dominique Williams is the leading rebounder for WSU with 8.0 per game.

Scouting Report: Idaho State Bengals (14-6, 9-2 BSC)

The Bengals came to Cedar City on January 3 and were able to come away with a 69-57 victory over the Thunderbirds. Since then, ISU has gone on to win eight of their next nine games. Their only loss came to Northern Colorado in Greeley.

Grace Kenyon leads the Bengals in scoring and rebounding averaging 14.3 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game. Kenyon had 21 points and nine rebounds in the win over the T-Birds.

The Bengals will host Northern Arizona on Thursday before hosting the Thunderbirds.

Game Info

Thursday's game against the Wildcats is set to tip off at 12:00 p.m. inside the Dee Events Center. The game will be streamed live on PlutoTV channel 235 and live stats will be available at weberstatesports.com.

Saturday's game in Pocatello is set to tip off at 2:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on PlutoTV channel 243 and live stats will be available at tbirdstats.com.

Tickets for the Lady T-Birds' next home game on February 14 against Sacramento State are available at tbirdtickets.com or the America First Event Center Ticket Office. Fans can also purchase a Women's Sports Pass for access to all 2018-19 home games.
