Big Sky Reveals Preseason Poll Results

SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Big Sky Conference unveiled the results of the 2019 Preseason Coaches' and Media Poll this morning, with the Thunderbirds being predicted to finish 11th by the media and 12th by the coaches in the league.

"I'm just excited because I love proving people wrong all the time, so the lower the better," SUU head coach Demario Warren said. "It's going to be a great story for everybody when we do what we expect to do this season. Our guys have been fired up for a long time from the disappointment of last season, and this just gives us another opportunity to add to our story."

Coming off a trip to the FCS National Championship Game, the Eagles of Eastern Washington were tabbed as the favorites in both polls. They were followed by UC Davis and Weber State respectively in each. The Thunderbirds miss the Eagles this season, but are set to play both the Aggies and the Wildcats.

The Thunderbirds will open their season on August 31 in Las Vegas against the UNLV Rebels.
