CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Postseason recognition continues to roll in for the Thunderbird football team, with former T-Bird center Zach Larsen earning two more All-American honors from Athlon Sports and Phil Steele, and cornerback Carlton Johnson earning Freshman All-American status from Phil Steele.
For Larsen, this is the fourth and fifth All-American honors he's racked up this postseason, along with earning the Rimington Award as the best center in the FCS.
Larsen just recently concluded his senior season for the Thunderbirds, wrapping up one of the most storied careers the program has ever seen.
For Johnson, this is his first postseason recognition as an All-American. He was previously named to the All-Big Sky Third Team Defense for his play during the season.
Johnson was named to the Third Team Defense after leading the Thunderbirds in interceptions and earning Player of the Week honors following a two interception performance against Idaho State. He finished the year with three picks and four pass break ups, along with 32 tackles.
