CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah gymnastics team and head coach Scotty Bauman have announced their upcoming 2021 schedule, which will include four home meets and two 2020 national top-10 opponents.

The Flippin' Birds will start their season at the second annual Best of Utah meet on January 9. The Best of Utah is a four-team meet between Southern Utah, BYU, University of Utah, and Utah State hosted at the Maverik Center in West Valley City. Last season the Thunderbirds finished third at the meet behind BYU and Utah.

The team's first home meet of the season will take place on January 16 when they host Air Force inside the America First Event Center. They will then travel to Logan for a matchup with Utah State on January 22 before returning home to Cedar City to host Boise State on January 29.

February will begin with back-to-back matchups with BYU, first in Provo on February 5 and then again the following weekend on February 12 in Cedar City. The final home meet of the season for the Flippin' Birds will take place on February 19 against Utah State.

Southern Utah will wrap up the regular season with road meets against Boise State (February 26), Denver (March 7), and Arizona (March 12). The Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championship will be hosted by Utah State this year on March 20 in Logan.
