CEDAR CITY, Utah -- The Thunderbird men's basketball team secured their 13th victory of the season on Tuesday afternoon, knocking off the Hawks of San Diego Christian College 109-50 inside the America First Event Center.
The Thunderbirds now hold a home record of 11-0, and sit at 13-3 on the season overall. They also have a 6-2 mark in Big Sky Conference competition.
"We're showing competitive maturity, and playing well by focusing on us in these games," SUU head coach Todd Simon said following the contest. "We played 13 guys double-digit minutes and I think we're just showing our depth."
Southern Utah was led by a career-high 21 points from Dre Marin, who finished the day 7-of-9 from the field. He also had five assists and four rebounds in the contest to go along with two steals.
Harrison Butler and Dee Barnes both finished with 14 points in the contest to finish as SUU's second-leading scorers.
Damani McEntire pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds in the game.
The Thunderbirds shot 56 percent from the field for the contest, hitting a blistering 62 percent of their shots in the second half.
SUU's bench outscored SDCC's 57-2, and the T-Birds held a 58-16 advantage in terms of points in the paint.
