DENVER, Colo. - The No. 15 Southern Utah gymnastics team competed in a tri-meet against No. 13 Denver and No. 20 Utah State. The Flippin' Birds scored a 195.125 and took third place in the meet. Denver won the meet with a 197.650 and the Aggies scored a 196.775 for second place.

Southern Utah opened the meet on bars where they scored a 48.950 as a team. Mayson Bentley led the way with a 9.875 followed by a 9.825 from Molly Jozwiakowski. Nikki Thomas scored a 9.775 and Aly Coutu scored a 9.750 in her first collegiate routine. Aubri Schwartze rounded out the scoring with a 9.725.

The Thunderbirds then moved to beam where they scored a 48.775. Rachel Smith scored a 9.825 followed by a 9.800 from Karley McClain. Schwartze scored a 9.750 and both Thomas and Emma Wissman scored a 9.700 to round out the scoring.

The Flippin' Birds scored a 48.575 on floor in their third rotation of the day. Schwartze scored a 9.850, Jozwiakowski scored a 9.825, and Kayla Horton scored a 9.700. Smith scored a 9.675 and Wissman rounded out the scoring with a 9.525.

The Thunderbirds wrapped up the meet on vault where they scored a 48.825. Smith led the way with a 9.825 followed by a 9.775 from Jozwiakowski and Celine Barney. Stephanie Tervort scored a 9.750  and Caitlin Kho rounded out the scoring with a 9.700.

The Flippin' Birds will compete in their final regular season meet next Saturday at the University of Arizona.
