CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah softball team and head coach Don Don Williams would like to welcome Carson Owens to their coaching staff as their newest assistant coach.

Owens comes to Cedar City from the University of Alabama where he spent the last two seasons as a manager for the Crimson Tide softball program. He was a part of a program that won the 2021 SEC Tournament, the 2021 Tuscaloosa Regional, the 2021 Tuscaloosa Super Regional, and made an appearance at the 2021 Women's College World Series as the No. 3 seed.

Owens has also spent time coaching at Wallace State Community College, helping lead the team to back-to-back ACCC North Division Championships and an appearance in the 2018 NJCAA National Tournament.

Owens graduated from the University of Alabama in May with a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing and a minor in Sport Management.
