SOUTHERN UTAH (3-4)

The Thunderbirds have continued their dominance on the boards this season. Southern Utah wins the rebounding battle by an average of 13 each game, grabbing 48.9 boards compared to their opponents 35.9 per game.

Lizzy Williamson has been a force to be reckoned with, leading the team in points (14.3), rebounds (11.9), and blocks (2.7). Williamson recorded a double-double in five of the team's first seven games.

Daylani Ballena (12.4) and Cherita Daugherty (11.9) both score double-digits for the Thunderbirds as well.

LAST TIME OUT

The Thunderbirds battled against Texas A&M Commerce, winning 71-56.

Southern Utah dominated many facets of the game. The T-Birds won the rebounding war by a wide margin, 53-32. The Thunderbirds shot the ball more efficiently than the Lions, hitting 45 percent of their shots compared to their opponents 26.8 percent.

Lizzy Williamson came up huge for the T-Birds with a massive double-double. Williamson scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to go along with a season-high four blocks.

Junior Samantha Johnston led the SUU attack with 19 points, shooting 4-9 from downtown.

Daylani Ballena (12) and Cherita Daugherty (12) also recorded double figures for the Thunderbirds.

SCOUTING REPORT: NORTHERN ARIZONA (3-5)

NAU heads to Cedar City after falling short in three straight games at Paradise Jam's Reef Tournament at the US Virgin Islands. The Lumberjacks were defeated by Arkansas (82-73), No. 25 Kansas State (93-80), and Clemson (80-62), falling to 3-5 overall this season. Northern Arizona will look to rebound from these losses and get back into the win column.

Nyah Moran leads the way for NAU to the tune of 12.8 points per game. Montana Oltrogge chips in 12 points as well, along with snatching a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game. 

The Lumberjacks are coached by Loree Payne. NAU has produced three straight winning seasons under Payne's leadership.

HISTORY

NAU leads the overall series 11-9. Southern Utah has claimed the last three matchups against the Lumberjacks, and will look to continue this winning streak on Saturday. The Thunderbirds dominated in their last meeting, seizing a 90-67 victory at home.
