The Thunderbirds found themselves in a hole early, down 13-4 late in the first quarter. SUU gradually found its way back into the game and took the lead, but both teams struggled to score as Southern Utah led 23-19 at halftime. Both teams struggled to score to start the second half, but SUU converted enough looks to go up by 10 heading into the final quarter.

SUU's defense kept up the pressure in the final stanza of the game, and the offense produced a 9-2 run which gave the Thunderbirds enough room to operate and close out the game. Eastern Washington's offense finally showed signs of life in the closing minutes, but could get no closer than 13 points.
