The Aggies
Utah State is currently 1-1 on the season and coming off an overtime loss to Bradley 66-72. Montana State transfer Great Osobor leads the team in scoring at 18ppg through two contests, he also pulls down eight rebounds per. As a team they're averaging over 80ppg and their defense only gives up 60. The Aggies are under the direction of first year head coach Danny Sprinkle, who made is way over from Montana State.
The Thunderbirds
SUU saw offensive explosions from both Prophet Johnson (22p) and Zion Young (18p) in it's first win of the season. Dominique Ford, Parsa Fallah, Hayden Ledbetter, and Chazz Hutchison all scored double-digits in the win, and every player that checked into the game registered at least two points. The Thunderbirds also outrebounded the Warriors of Life Pacific 48-22.
The game against Utah State will be a tougher battle, especially on the glass. SUU has seen Osobor many times before and he is a big and strong force inside and loves to rebound. Winning the rebounding battle will be important if SUU is to come out victorious. Both teams like to get the ball inside to their bigs and then work to the perimeter.
"Utah State will be a good challenge for us. It is another opportunity for us to grow as a team and continue to gel before conference play starts. Coach Sprinkle is a good coach and his teams play hard. We will need to come out focused and task oriented." Said Coach Rob Jeter.
