Box Score RUSTON, LA -- SUU was unable to get anything to drop offensively and fell to LA Tech 53-67 at the MTE. The Thunderbirds will have a quick turnaround as they face Texas St tomorrow, at 11 a.m.
SUU shot a frigid 32% from the floor and 27% from three. Thunderbirds had eight more shot attempts than the Bulldogs but just weren't able to get anything to fall. Housley went on a 7-0 run with just over five minutes left in the ball game that would cut the lead to 11 but that was as close as the Thunderbirds would get for the remainder of the contest.Â
"When building a program, there will be games where discipline, more than anything is challenged, and tonight was one of those games." Said Head Coach Rob Jeter.Â
Zion Young led all scorers in the contest with 19 points on 7-20 from the field and 3-11 from three also pulling down a team-high eight rebounds. Braden Housley had 16 points and was an efficient 3-4 from three. Parsa Fallah struggled with foul trouble again but had six points, three rebounds, and one assist in just 18 minutes.Â
Isaiah Crawford led the way for the Bulldogs with 18 points and was a perfect 6-6 from the field. Daniel Batcho, a Texas Tech transfer, had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds for LA Tech.Â
"We have to continue on our journey of getting better, and when we face tough challenges like today, we need to be resilient and stay the course." Said Jeter.
