CEDAR CITY, Utah - Get ready for the Southern Utah Flippin' Birds Gymnastics team to set the floor ablaze this season! With a trio of seasoned returners leading the charge, this squad promises an explosive mix of skill, finesse, and showmanship. Let's take a look at who we could see compete on the floor this season.
Head Coach Scotty Bauman Said
"I am incredibly excited for this floor team to show what they can do. They have the potential to make a huge impact every time they perform. They will score very well with the skill and dynamic personalities they put into their routines. I can't wait to see what they can accomplish this year."
Back to Business
Aubri Schwartze is gearing up with a brand-new routine that taps into uncharted facets of her performance. Renowned for her top-tier tumbling, Aubri's track record speaks volumes, boasting a stellar career high of 9.925 achieved twice last year. Expect her to unleash a display that cements her status as one of the conference and country's top athletes.

Taylor Gull's evolution since becoming a key contributor to last year's team has been nothing short of remarkable. Her upbeat routine is poised to captivate the crowd and wow the judges. Gull's previous high score of 9.9 is just a preview of the heights she's aiming to conquer this season.
Ellie Cacciola is a maestro of performance. Her immaculate execution makes her a formidable force at any meet. While her previous high score stands at an impressive 9.875, all signs point to Ellie making a striking leap into the 9.9 range early this season.
New Potential, New Faces
Keep a close eye on Kayla Pardue, whose preseason strides position her as a serious contender for a spot in the lineup. Pardue was an outstanding addition to the Flippin' Birds vault lineup last season and will bring that power and strength to the floor this season. Additionally, the freshman cohort brings a wave of fresh talent ready to make its mark.

Niya Randolph is a standout newcomer, her dynamic tumbling perfectly aligning with the NCAA floor style. Her unique, high-energy routine promises excitement.
Alyssa Fernandez's charismatic performances, coupled with solid tumbling skills, are primed to secure her place in the lineup, creating ripples of anticipation among the team's supporters.
Brinlee Christensen is a paradox of personality, with a darker routine that allows for an electrifying performance. Her clean, powerful execution will earn reps in the floor lineup. Christensen posted an impressive performance at the 2023 Region 1 Championships, securing a runner-up title on floor.
Rylee Miller's floor presence is unparalleled, backed by her recent triumphs at the 2023 Canada Games, where she secured first place, and the Canadian Nationals, where she earned the runner-up spot. Miller will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with.
The Southern Utah Flippin' Birds floor team is a melting pot of talent, experience, and fresh faces, all poised to leave a mark on the floor, igniting cheers and awe-inspiring moments throughout the season.
The Thunderbirds will open the season on the road on January 6, 2024, at the Mean Girls Super 16 in Las Vegas. The First home meet for Southern Utah will be on January 19, when the Flippin' Birds will host a tri-meet with Arizona State and Utah State.
