CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Parsa Fallah scores a career high 29 points and the Thunderbirds walk away with a 82-74 victory over the Idaho State Bengals in the America First Event Center.
"We were able to continue our really efficient play that we had against Utah here tonight, which is a good sign. As a coaching staff we feel like the team has really bought in to what we are trying to establish as a culture and as a program and now we can start focusing on continuing to build upwards towards winning games and making the conference tournament." said Head Coach Rob Jeter.
Game Recap
Neither team was able to establish any offensive rhythm in the first half, but SUU was able to close the half on a 4-0 spurt that would send them into the break with a 33-26 lead over the Bengals.
The second half was quite the opposite, both teams came out shooting the ball really wall and getting quality looks all over the court. Bengals scored 48 points in the second half shooting the ball 74% from the field in the second half but SUU scored 49 points in the second half and ultimately would come away with an eight point victory.
Statistical Recap
Once again, Parsa Fallah continues his unbelievable play, scoring a career-high 29 points on incredibly efficient 13-16 from the field. He pulled down seven rebounds and had one steal in 34 minutes.
Prophet Johnson did a little bit of everything against the Bengals, scoring 15 points, snagging three rebounds and dishing three assists to go along with one steal on the night.
Zion Young got back into his offensive rhythm, scoring twelve points on 4-6 from the field and 2-4 from deep.
Braden Housley couldn't quite find the scoring output that he had against Utah but he was able to impact the game in other ways, dishing out a team-high seven assists. That helped the team total of 16 assists on the night, which is a season-high.
The Thunderbirds shot the ball 53% from the field and 70% from the charity stripe. SUU led for nearly the entire game and come away with a big win at home.
"We got better tonight which is always the ultimate goal. Defensively we played really well in the first half, disrupting a lot of what their offense was trying to do and forcing turnovers that led to easy baskets on the other end. Overall I am very proud of our team and we are trending in the right direction" said, Jeter.

The Thunderbirds will have a week off before returning to action against the Lumberjacks of NAU on Dec 16 in Flagstaff AZ. The game will tip off at 2 p.m. and will be live streamed on ESPN+.
