CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Southern Utah Softball team fell in its final game of the season. The Thunderbirds struggled to push runs across the plate in a 5-0 loss to Grand Canyon Saturday afternoon in Phoenix.
Junior outfielder Allie Laub led the Thunderbirds at the plate with a pair of hits. Also picking up hits for Southern Utah were sophomore utility Amyah Boostedt and freshman outfielder Alayah Toscano.
The Thunderbirds pitched several players during the contest. The loss would go to starting pitcher redshirt senior Payton Goodrich. Goodrich went two innings giving up two runs and striking out two in the effort.
NEXT UP
Coach Don Don Williams and the Thunderbirds will now turn their attention to the offseason. Southern Utah will begin recruiting and building next year's roster over the summer and will be back in action in the fall.
