CEDAR CITY, Utah - To mark the beginning of the highly anticipated 2023 football season, Southern Utah University is gearing up to participate in the inaugural United Athletic Conference (UAC) Media Day on July 14. The event, which promises to be a grand affair, will take place at the vibrant and bustling Texas Live! venue located in Arlington, Texas, and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
At the forefront of the SUU delegation will be Head Coach DeLane Fitzgerald. Joining him will be two exceptional athletes who have electrified fans with their skills on the field. First, quarterback Justin Miller, who is set to potentially break some long-standing program records this fall. Alongside Miller will be linebacker Aubrey Nellems, who looks ready to make his fifth and final year with the T-Birds his best yet.

The Thunderbirds will take to the main stage from 8:50 to 9:05 a.m. MT. The interview hosted by Kendra Sheehan will provide an opportunity for Coach Fitzgerald, Justin Miller, and Aubrey Nellems to share their insights, experiences, and aspirations for the upcoming season.
The UAC itself is an exciting addition to the collegiate football landscape. With a focus solely on football, this brand-new conference unites programs from both the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and the ASUN Conference. In the upcoming 2023-24 season, nine formidable teams will vie for glory within the UAC.
