This ability to gain yards after the reception is indicative of his elusiveness and determination on the field.
Coach DeLane Fitzgerald Said
"We stole one there! Zach Mitchell is a good player. We got him to come to Cedar City from Boston but he is a good football player. When you have got a freshman going for 135 (yards), he is a good football player."
"It was just his second game and he is going to put up a lot of career-high performances. The young man is the real deal and he is going to get better going forward."
Mitchell's impact wasn't limited to the BYU game alone. In his debut game against Arizona State, he showcased his potential by accumulating 52 yards and scoring a touchdown. This early success in his collegiate career bodes well for Southern Utah's offensive prospects this season.

Zach Mitchell's rapid rise as a freshman player in the UAC shows his raw talent and dedication to the game. His ability to contribute significantly to his team's success in just his second college game is undoubtedly noteworthy, earning him well-deserved recognition as the UAC Freshman Player of the Week. Southern Utah fans can look forward to more exciting moments from this promising young athlete as the season progresses.
