Men's Basketball Host Successful Exhibition Game Versus Westminster

CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The America First Event Center saw its first action of the basketball season on Monday, October 28, when the Thunderbirds played host to the Griffins of Westminster.

Head Coach Rob Jeter said

"Yeah it was a good chance for our guys to incorporate what we have been trying to teach them in practice, into a real game. We played hard and hopefully got the fans excited enough to come out and support this season."

SUU was led by junior guard Tavi Jackson, who scored 19 points on 7 of 12 from the field and pulled down nine rebounds.

The Thunderbirds shot 43% from the field and had four triples. Jamir Simpson had 13 points, four rebounds, and an assist in his first performance in front of the home crowd.

13 different Thunderbirds saw action during the exhibition.
