CEDAR CITY, Utah - The stage is set, and the Southern Utah Flippin' Birds are ready to take flight for the 2025 season. The Thunderbirds are coming off back-to-back Conference Championships, having won the title in the final year of the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference (MRGC) before taking their first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship last season.
Head Coach Scotty Bauman Said
"We have an incredible group of athletes who've put in the work to get stronger, cleaner, and more consistent. Our entire lineup is ready to make a statement this season. This schedule is going to be tough, but these athletes thrive under pressure. Our goal is to perform our best gymnastics each time we step on the floor, and that will help us keep that MPSF title right here in Cedar City."
Led by MPSF Gymnast of the Year Niya Randolph, returning vault champion Brinlee Christensen, as well as beam co-champions Ellie Cacciola and Kennedi McClain; this team is on a mission to secure a third consecutive conference title and solidify their standing as a national powerhouse. With a final 2024 ranking of #27, the Thunderbirds are determined to soar even higher.
Championship Ring Presentation
The Flippin' Birds celebrated their 2024 Conference Championship at the Southern Utah vs. North Alabama home football game this past weekend. The team was presented with their Championship rings in front of a solid crowd at Eccles Coliseum.
