CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah University women's basketball team will look to pick up their first wins of the season at home against Saint Joseph's University on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. and Bethesda University of California on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
Head Coach Tracy Mason Said:
"It's nice to have a little home stretch here for the next few games. St. Joseph's is a very good team and played well into the postseason last year. They have some veteran players and execute really well. Attention to detail and focus will be extremely important. We have to be better this week."

The Thunderbirds
While Southern Utah has struggled to get a win in their first four matchups, the team's three-point shooting percentage and rebounds per game have increased every game this season. The Thunderbirds enter the week coming off a tough loss to the University of Idaho in which they recorded a season-high nine steals.
Daylani Ballena leads the Thunderbirds in scoring and assists with 10.3 points per game and 12 total assists, shooting 40.9% from the field. Loyola Marymount University transfer Sydney Gandy found her stride last week, averaging 12.5 points across the two games.
Scouting Report
Saint Joseph's University Hawks
Undefeated in their season thus far, the 3-0 Hawks pose a daunting challenge for the Thunderbirds. Following a 68-57 win over Penn University, SJU is averaging 84.7 PPG and 12 steals per game.
Leading the Hawks, Talya Brugler has averaged 21 PPG, hitting on 58.5% of her shots from the field. Mackenzie Smith, shooting 52.2% from the perimeter, has drained 12 three-pointers. Averaging 15.3 PPG, Laura Ziegler rounds out the potent SJU trio with 31 total rebounds and 16 assists.
Bethesda University of California Lion Angels
The 0-6 Lion Angels have yet to win a game this season, with their most recent loss coming in a 96-38 rout by the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros.
The talented Makaia Smith poses the largest threat for the Lion Angels, having scored 29 points against Caltech last week.
