SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- The Thunderbirds are 6-1 after beating the University of Idaho 82-67 on day two of the MTE in San Diego.
Head Coach Rob Jeter said
"Our depth really showed through today, having to play two games in two days. Our first half defense was really impressive, only allowing 25 points was big for us. We also shared the ball, and made the extra pass, finished the game with 16 assists and only nine turnovers."

- Jamir Simpson once again led the team in scoring. Finishing with 21 points on 9-16 from the field. It is his fourth consecutive game with at least 20 points.
- Dominique Ford had 14 points and was a scorching 4-6 from three.
- Eleven players recorded at least four points in the win!

SUU was a blistering 70% from the field in the first half and 66% from three! With 7:00 minutes left in the first half, it was still a six-point game, but Jamir Simpson went on a personal 5-0 run to push the lead to 11, and the Thunderbirds only allowed five points in the final seven minutes and took a 42-25 lead in the break.
For the game, SUU shot 57% from the field and 58% from three, making 11 of their 19 deep ball attempts.
The Thunderbirds never trailed in the contest and improved to 6-1, the program's best start since 2020.
