CEDAR CITY, Utah - Following their second win of the season on Dec. 20, the Southern Utah University women's basketball team hopes to carry their momentum into a home battle with the Cal Poly Mustangs on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 2:00 p.m.

"Cal Poly is coming off a nice win over Seattle before the break. They play very hard and have some skilled players. We'll have a few days of preparation and we need to be ready to go. This is an important game as we head into conference play the following week."

Matchup History
The Thunderbirds
While Southern Utah stands at 2-10 on the season, they enter their matchup with Cal Poly following a convincing 92-42 win that marked a season-high in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
Sophomore forward Ava Uhrich led the team to the dominant victory, recording a double-double and surpassing 20 points for the second time this season. Meanwhile, Sydney Gandy consistently anchors the guard position, averaging 10.3 points per game and totaling 37 assists on the year.

With an impressive 44.4% accuracy from the field, Annika Shah leads the Cal Poly offense in both scoring and assists, averaging 14.3 PPG. Mary Carter scores 11.9 PPG in addition to bringing down 5.1 rebounds per game.
