CEDAR CITY, Utah - The United Athletic Conference (UAC) announced on Wednesday afternoon the annual Media Day for football, which will take place on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. The event will be hosted at Texas Live in Arlington, Texas. It will feature the release of the 2024 Preseason All-UAC teams, general conference announcements, and interviews with players and coaches from around the conference.

Southern Utah University's Coach DeLane Fitzgerald will be among the featured guests, providing insights and updates on the Thunderbirds' upcoming season. Also representing the Thunderbirds at Media Day are senior running back Targhee Lambson and senior safety George Ramirez.
Ramirez and Lambson are poised to significantly impact the Southern Utah football season. Ramirez has demonstrated steady growth and consistency in his defensive role, appearing in all 11 games in Fall 2023, recording 48 total tackles, including 26 solo tackles, and notching an interception and a fumble recovery. On the offensive side, Lambson's performance last Fall was impressive, with 483 rushing yards, six touchdowns, 11 receptions for 95 yards, and two touchdowns. His background at Snow College, where he rushed for over 1,000 yards and earned JUCO All-American honors, underscores his potential to be a key playmaker. The pair could be pivotal in shaping a successful season for Southern Utah.
The Media Day event will be broadcast live on ESPN+ beginning at 10:30 a.m. MT, with the delegation from SUU hitting the main stage at noon MT.
