CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The Thunderbirds are coming off a 73-68 win over UT Arlington last time out and will have the opportunity to continue their impressive season at Seattle U.

The Thunderbirds

SUU is just one win away from matching their win total from a season ago and is 1-2 in conference play after an impressive win over UTA last time out.

The Thunderbirds are third in the conference in points per game, at just under 76, and have the second-highest field goal percentage at 45%. The Thunderbirds hold their opponents to just 42% from the field, the second-best number in the conference. First-shot defense has been really good for SUU this season, but they have struggled giving up second-chance points. They are second in the conference in team defensive rebounds but are second to last in rebounding differential.

Jamir Simpson is still second in the conference in points per game, averaging 16.24, and Dominique Ford is fourth at 15.75. Both players are also top-10 in the conference in field goal percentage. Ford leads the conference in free throw percentage (89%) and three-point percentage (36%).

Brock Felder leads the conference in blocked shots with 35 on the year.

Scout The Redhawks

Seattle U is 6-10 on the year with their most impressive win at the University of Washington. They are 1-1 in conference play, with a close two-point loss at California Baptist and a close two-point win versus Abilene Christian. Before taking on the Thunderbirds, they will play Utah Tech on Thursday, January 16.

The Redhawks rank third in the conference in opponents points per game, holding teams to 70.31. They're also second in the conference in rebounding margin, at +3.94.

Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe is a 6'8 forward who transferred to Seattle from the University of Georgia and has been a dominant force for the Redhawks all season long. He is fifth in the conference in points per game (15.46) and first in rebounds (10.92). He has eight double-doubles on the year and is coming off a Conference Player and Newcomer of the Week award after scoring the game-winning basket against Abilene Christian with under 10 seconds left.

John Christofilis is second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.4 points per game, and Paris Dawson is not far behind at 10.9. Dawson has made 23 three-pointers on the year at a 34% clip.

Maleek Arington is second in the conference in total assists and assists per game at 77 and 4.81.
