CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The Thunderbirds are set to play the first of three straight road games in a five-day stretch. SUU will be taking on the reigning Summit League Champions, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, in Omaha on Saturday, November 15, at 6:00 p.m.
Head Coach Rob Jeter said
"We got a really tough stretch coming up, starting with a team that was in the NCAA Tournament a season ago. We have to focus on ourselves, and our specific tasks we need to accomplish to be successful."
Matchup History
The Thunderbirds are 1-0 all-time against the Mavericks, winning the only matchup a season ago, 79-73, at the America First Event Center.

The Thunderbirds
SUU is coming off its first win of the season against Bethesda (CA). The T-Birds handled the Lion Angels 118-60 and had 13 different players record a point.
Jaiden Feroah has been dominant for the Thunderbirds this season. Leading the team in scoring (13.3) and rebounding (7.3). He also leads the WAC in blocked shots with 13 through three games.
Freshman point guard Elijah Duval has also been special for the T-Birds. Averaging 11 points per game and leads the team with 15 assists. He is also tied for the lead in the WAC with eight steals on the year.
Dylan Jones leads the team with eight three-pointers made on the year, and is currently shooting the deep ball at a 42% clip.
The Mavericks
Omaha has had a tough start to its 2025-26 season. Still looking for its first win after starting the season 0-3 against some tough competition. The Mavericks lost the season-opener 77-85 to Murray State and then lost a nail-biter to WAC opponent Abilene Christian 71-73, and dropped their last game 74-97 to the Rams of Colorado State.
Lance Waddles leads the team at an impressive 17 points per game, including 10 made three-pointers on 20 attempts. He is shooting 53% from the field through three games.
Tony Osburn isn't far behind at 16 points per game on 44/42/83 shooting percentages.
Waddles leads the team in rebounding as well, pulling down five per contest. And Osburn leads the team with 10 assists on the year.
The Mavericks average 74 points per game and give up 85 on average to their opponents.
