CEDAR CITY, Utah –Southern Utah running back Joshua Dye has been named the UAC Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, tying him for the most weekly honors earned by any player in the conference this year. The recognition comes after yet another record-setting performance in the Thunderbirds' win over Central Arkansas on Saturday.
Head Coach DeLane Fitzgerald Said
"Josh shows up every week and gives us everything he has. The workload he's taken on and the toughness he runs with are special. He prepares in the right way and stays grounded, which allows him to continue improving. This award reflects his efforts and those of the entire offensive unit. We're proud of him, and he's earned it."
Dye once again carried the offensive load, powering Southern Utah with 181 rushing yards on an incredible 39 carries. He punched in three touchdowns, raising his season total to 25 and setting a new SUU single-season rushing touchdown record. His three scores also pushed him to 150 points this fall, breaking the program's single-season scoring record.
Already the Division I leader in rushing touchdowns, Dye now sits just nine yards behind the national leader in rushing yards. He is also within striking distance of another major milestone, sitting fewer than 200 yards away from eclipsing the SUU single-season rushing record set by Targhee Lambson in 2023.
With Dye's relentless production and consistency, the Thunderbirds' offense continues to shine as the season winds down, and he continues to solidify himself as one of the premier running backs in the nation.
