CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Men's Basketball team is participating in the Urban-Bennett Invitational, a multi-team event with Robert Morris University (host) and Stetson University. The games will be held at Robert Morris in Moon Township, PA.
Head Coach Rob Jeter said
"This MTE is a good opportunity for us to get better. We are coming off a win at home, and need to be able to carry the same energy and physicality with us on the road. Playing games on back-to-back days is always tough, but the guys are prepared mentally and physically for the challenge."

The Thunderbirds
The Thunderbirds are coming off a big win at home against the Nobel Knights, but are still searching for the first DI victory of the 2025-26 season. SUU has not lacked in scoring this season, averaging nearly 81 points per game, but defensively, it has been somewhat of a struggle, allowing teams to score nearly 90 points per contest.
Opponents are shooting nearly 50% from the floor against the Thunderbirds and just under 42% from three.
The T-Birds are second in the league in blocked shots at over five blocks per game, and Feroah leads the conference in total blocks and blocks per game.
True freshman point guard Elijah Duval leads the team in scoring at 12.1 points per contest, but Jaiden Feroah isn't far behind at 11.6. Dylan Jones has also found his stride in the last few games, scoring 24 points at Washington State and 15 points against Nobel.
Feroah and Isaiah Cottrell lead the team in rebounding, both averaging right around 5.5 rebounds per contest.
Coach Jeter is still trying to find his best lineup, with eight different players having started a game for the Thunderbirds.Â
The Colonials
Robert Morris is currently 3-3 and will face UIC at home tonight before the MTE gets underway. RMU has a good overtime win at Drake in the second game of the year, but is currently on a two-game losing skid, with losses at St Bonaventure and Monmouth.
The Colonials average 75.8 points per game on 45/29/66 shooting splits. They rebound really well, bringing down over 40 per game, and average nearly eight steals per game.
Nikolaos Chitikoudis leads the Colonials, scoring 14.5 points per game on 66% from the floor. He also brings down nearly eight rebounds per contest. Josh Hill (11.2), DeSean Goode (11.0), and Ryan Prather Jr (10.8) are all averaging double-digits scoring as well.
Nobody on the RMU squad has made double-digit three-pointers yet.
The Hatters
Stetson is currently 3-4 on the year and is coming off a 62-79 loss at home versus Wright State.
