CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- A tough weekend of travel led to a slow start for the Thunderbirds, who could never climb out of a significant deficit and drop a home contest to Abilene Christian.

Top T-Birds
- Brock Felder had a dominant do-it-all game. Scoring six points, corraling 10 rebounds, and blocking five shots.
- Jamir Simpson led the T-Birds in scoring with 14 to go along with five rebounds.
- Lorenzo Abellar scored nine points on 3-4 shooting, pulled down six rebounds, and led the team with five assists.
Game Recap
Dominique Ford made his long-awaited return for the Thunderbirds but was on a sort of minutes restriction due to the persisting injury. SUU struggled to take care of the basketball once again, amassing 22 turnovers in the game.
The Wildcats jumped out to a quick 16-7 lead, and the Thunderbirds could never really rally back. With 5:19 to play in the first half, the Thunderbirds trailed 40-20; at the halftime break, it was 51-32.
ACU took advantage of the sloppy offensive play, accumulating 18 steals, leading to 23 points off turnovers.
The lead grew to as many as 29 in the second half, but SUU battled back with made three-pointers from Cade Brazier and Rob Jeter Jr, ultimately making the final score 84-70.
