Matchup History

  • The Redhawks hold a 6-2 all-time record against the Thunderbirds, but this will be just the second time that Seattle U is in Cedar City since SUU joined the WAC. Seattle U won the first matchup this year, 75-52 in Seattle.

The Thunderbirds

SUU is locked into the first-round game at Burns Arena, so the outcome of Thursday's game doesn't impact postseason play.

The seniors that will be honored will be Dominique Ford, Jamir Simpson, Peter Dadson Jr, Cade Brazier, Hercy Miller, Malik Lamin, and Robert Jeter Jr. Let's pack the AFEC and support these seniors!

Dominique Ford exploded for a season-high at Utah Tech last week, scoring 29 points on 9-16 from the field. He has now scored 25+ points in two of his previous four games.

Jamir Simpson still leads the team in scoring per game, averaging just under 17 and has scored 20+ 14 times this season.

Brock Felder leads the Thunderbirds in rebounds per game at 6.1 and the WAC in total blocks with 59. He is now just five off the record for most blocks in a single season in SUU history.

Simpson led the T-Birds in scoring at Seattle, with 15 points, and Ford only played 10 minutes after sustaining an injury in the first half.

Scout the Redhawks

John Christofilis scored a season-high at the time, 18 points on 8-14 from the field and 2-4 from three. He ranks sixth in the conference in total three-pointers made.

Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe has been a monster for the Seattle U this season. He has 10 double-doubles on the year and is coming off back-to-back 19, eight, and 16 and eight performances in his last two games.

The Redhawks played the Lopes of Grand Canyon to a three-point loss last time out in Seattle and had the lead for the majority of the contest.

Maleek Arington leads the team with 125 assists on the year, which puts him second in the conference.

Paris Dawson averages 10 points per game and shoots the three-ball at a 35% clip on the year.
