CEDAR CITY, Utah – Southern Utah University Athletics is proud to announce the transition of Jeff Tukuafu to the role of Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, where he will lead the department's fundraising initiatives and play a vital role in enhancing resources and support for Thunderbird student-athletes.
Tukuafu, who is in his ninth year on staff and seventh in administration, previously served as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, where he oversaw Events, Facilities, Equipment, Capital Projects, multiple software platforms, the SUU Hall of Fame, and the Touchdown Club. He also served as the sports supervisor for football and the men's and women's golf programs.
"We are thrilled to have Jeff step into this critical role," said Director of Athletics Doug Knuth. "His deep understanding of our department, strong relationships across campus and in the community, and genuine passion for SUU make him the ideal leader to help elevate our alumni engagement and fundraising efforts."

A former standout on the Thunderbird football team from 2008 to 2012, Tukuafu returned to SUU in 2016 as the Director of Football Operations. In that role, he coordinated scheduling, travel, practice operations, and team logistics. His leadership and institutional knowledge have since been instrumental in advancing the department's infrastructure and day-to-day operations.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities SUU has given me both as a student-athlete and now in my professional career," said Tukuafu. "I look forward to working with our amazing alumni, fans, and supporters to build on our foundation and provide even greater opportunities for our student-athletes."
Jeff is married to Amie Tukuafu, and together they have one son, Ace.
