CEDAR CITY, Utah — The Thunderbirds battled to the end, but fell to Seattle 5-4 on Thursday night. The Thunderbirds' season comes to an end on a heartbreaking walkoff in the WAC tournament.
Southern Utah was led at the plate by a trio of batters who each collected two hits in the game. Amyah Boostedt picked up two singles in the game while Michaella Salvatierra added two singles and an RBI to the tally. Senior Ariyana Miranda blasted a single and a clutch RBI double in the game. Sophomore Emily Delgado battled for six innings, allowing four earned runs on eight hits and striking out four batters.

Game Summary
Seattle U struck early, grabbing a 2-0 lead in the first inning behind a solo home run from Morris and an RBI double from Wehn.
Southern Utah responded with determination, staying quiet until the fifth inning when Taralyn Ollison and Laurie Cooke each delivered clutch RBI singles to even the score at 2-2.
The Thunderbirds took control in the seventh, as Michaella Salvatierra and Ariyana Miranda each knocked in runs to give SUU a promising 4-2 lead heading into the final half-inning.
Seattle U rallied in the bottom of the seventh, capitalizing on timely hitting and defensive pressure. A pair of RBI singles and a fielder's choice allowed them to plate three runs, completing the comeback and sealing the Thunderbirds' fate.
