CEDAR CITY, Utah – With fall camp set to begin and the 2025 season fast approaching, Southern Utah Football earned significant preseason recognition with 12 players named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-United Athletic Conference Team, the most honorees in the program's UAC era.
The selections span offense, defense, and special teams, showcasing the Thunderbirds' depth and returning talent across the board.

"It's great to see so many of our guys recognized. These players have earned that respect through their work ethic, consistency, and performance on the field. We have leadership at every level, offense, defense, and special teams, and that's going to be critical to our success this season."
Phil Steele Preseason All-UAC Honorees – Southern Utah
The list highlights returning stars like Wissler, who helped lead the ground game in 2024, and Bails, who could become a go-to target at receiver. On defense, veterans like Dunn, Crump, Rich, and Rocha are set to anchor a unit loaded with speed and physicality.
Special teams continues to be a strength, with Jayden Rogers earning first-team kicker honors and Gavin Lipkin recognized as the conference's top long snapper.
Southern Utah opens the 2025 season at home against Idaho State on Friday, August 30, at 6:30 p.m. MT. The game marks the first of six home matchups in the 2025 slate.
