CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Big Sky Conference released its 2027 football schedule on Tuesday, and the Southern Utah Thunderbirds will play an eight-game league slate split evenly between four home games at Eccles Coliseum and four road trips.

Head Coach DeLane Fitzgerald Said

"The Big Sky is one of the deepest conferences in the FCS, and there isn't an easy week on this schedule. Having four league games at Eccles Coliseum, including in-state matchups with Utah Tech and Weber State, means a lot to our program. Our fans make Cedar City a tough place to play, and we want to give them plenty to cheer about. Our guys will be ready to compete for a Big Sky championship."

The T-Birds open Big Sky play on Sept. 25 at Northern Arizona before returning to Cedar City for the conference home opener against in-state rival Utah Tech on Oct. 2. After an open week on Oct. 9, Southern Utah hosts Idaho on Oct. 16.

The Thunderbirds then hit the road for back-to-back games, traveling to Eastern Washington on Oct. 23 and Idaho State on Oct. 30. SUU closes its home slate with consecutive games at Eccles Coliseum, hosting Montana State on Nov. 6 and Weber State on Nov. 13. The regular season wraps up Nov. 20 at Cal Poly.

Southern Utah will not face Montana, Northern Colorado, Portland State, or UC Davis during the 2027 conference season.

All Big Sky Conference games will continue to be broadcast on ESPN+. The Thunderbirds' nonconference schedule and game times will be announced at a later date.
