CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Men's Basketball team is looking to complete the season sweep of the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Saturday afternoon.
The Thunderbirds knocked off ACU once inside the AFEC, defeating the Wildcats 74-52, and more recently in Abilene, winning 79-76.
Head Coach Rob Jeter said
"We are going to have to be tough mentally and physically. It is really hard to beat a team three times, but we have the unique opportunity to do so."

Previous Matchups
- Back on January 17, the T-Birds knocked off the wildcats in Cedar City 74-52. Jaiden Feroah and Isaiah Cottrell both recorded double-doubles to lead the way for SUU.
- On January 31, Elijah Duval's late-game heroics led to a 79-76 win for the Thunderbirds. Duval scored 27 points and corralled seven rebounds to lead the Thunderbirds to victory.
The Thunderbirds
SUU is coming off a tough loss at Tarleton State, a game in which they had an 11-point lead in the first half, but also trailed by 10 in the second half.
Elijah Duval is now up to 14.3 points per game after scoring a game-high 23 points last time out. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists.
Five different Thunderbirds are averaging over nine points per game: Duval, Jaiden Feroah (13.2), Tanner Hayhurst (9.9), Isaiah Cottrell (9.2), and Dylan Jones (9.1).
Southern Utah is continuing to score the ball very efficiently, but struggles to hold teams under 75 points.
The Thunderbirds will need to take care of the basketball and force the Wildcats to play at a certain pace to be effective.
The Wildcats
ACU is coming off a 62-65 overtime loss to the Texans last time out, and has now fallen to 4-9 in WAC play
Bradyn Hubbard leads the way for ACU, scoring 16 points per game on 40/32/78 percent shooting splits. No other Wildcats player averages double digits.
Rich Smith is second on the team at 9.6 per game. He also leads the team with 118 assists and has 46 steals on the year.
Cbo Newton has stepped up lately for ACU. He is averaging 9.4 points per game on nearly 33% from deep.
ACU forces nearly 17 turnovers per game and averages just under 10 steals per contest.
