CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah Gymnastics continued its historic 2026 campaign with a dominant showing in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation postseason awards, highlighted by two of the conference's top individual honors and a long list of All-MPSF selections.
Head Coach Scotty Bauman Said
"Niya has been operating at a level that's hard to put into words. What she's done this season isn't just consistent, it's exceptional in every sense. And for Berlin, to step in as a freshman and make that kind of statement right away says a lot about who she is as a competitor. But what I love most is how many names you see across those All-Conference lists. That's a full team effort. It shows we're not relying on one or two routines, we've built something deeper, tougher, and ready for what's next."
Leading the way for the Flippin' Birds, junior Niya Randolph was named MPSF Gymnast of the Year after putting together one of the most decorated seasons in program history. Randolph's consistency and elite scoring set her apart throughout the year, as she earned seven Gymnast of the Week honors, more than any other athlete in the conference.
Randolph proved to be one of the most complete gymnasts in the nation, ranking among the top performers in the MPSF on every event while also leading the conference in the all-around. She eclipsed the 39.000 mark nine times during the season, including a career-best 39.575, good for the second-highest all-around score in program history. She also delivered a program-record 9.975 on the floor, showcasing her ability to produce near-perfect routines in high-pressure moments.
Freshman standout Berlin Hall added to Southern Utah's award haul by earning MPSF Freshman of the Year honors following a breakout debut season. Hall quickly established herself as one of the conference's premier floor workers, ranking No. 1 in the MPSF and inside the top 60 nationally.
Hall earned Freshman of the Week recognition six times and delivered five scores of 9.900 or higher on floor, including a career-best 9.925. Her performances down the stretch played a key role in elevating Southern Utah's floor lineup to one of the nation's best, as she became a reliable and dynamic presence in the Flippin' Birds' postseason push.
In addition to the major awards, Southern Utah placed a conference-best group of athletes on the All-MPSF teams, showcasing the program's depth and consistency across all four events.

Southern Utah's presence across the All-Conference teams highlights the program's balance, with multiple athletes contributing top scores on every event. Randolph's all-around excellence, combined with Hall's emergence and a deep, experienced lineup, has positioned the Flippin' Birds as one of the top teams in the MPSF and a formidable contender heading into postseason competition.
