Thunderbirds Announce 2025–26 Outdoor Track & Field Schedule

CEDAR CITY, Utah — Southern Utah track and field released its 2025-26 outdoor schedule Monday, highlighting a competitive slate of home meets and postseason opportunities. The Thunderbirds will continue to test themselves at competitive invitations as they prepare for the Western Athletic Conference and NCAA postseason.

"The track & field schedule reflects where I believe we need to go to continue developing this young team. This schedule will give each athlete opportunities to become their very best."


Season Outlook

Southern Utah will open the outdoor season March 20-21 at the Utah Tech Invite in St. George, Utah. The Thunderbirds will continue competing March 26 at the UVU Collegiate Invite in Orem, Utah, before splitting the team April 3-4 between the UNLV Rebels Elite in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, California. Both meets will feature deep fields and strong early-season tests.

Multi-event athletes will compete April 9-10 at the Bryan Clay Multi in Azusa, California. The following weekend, April 10-11, additional athletes will travel to Salt Lake City for the University of Utah and Weber State Invitational.

Southern Utah returns to Azusa April 16-18 for the Bryan Clay Invitational, one of the nation's premier distance meets that regularly features national-caliber performances.

The Thunderbirds will host the SUU Coliseum Championships on April 30 in Cedar City, Utah.

The postseason begins May 14-16 at the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at Maverick Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where the Thunderbirds will compete for conference titles and NCAA qualifying performances.

Qualifying athletes will advance to the NCAA Division 1 West Preliminary Round, May 27-30, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The season will conclude June 10-13 at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
