Richard Church is in his seventh season as head golf coach at Southern Utah University. Church served as the Thunderbirds’ assistant coach for four seasons prior to taking over from former Coach John Evans in the fall of 2000.

@^&During his tenure as head or assistant coach at SUU, Church has coached four Academic all-Americans, one Mid-Continent Conference medalist, two Mid-Con runners-up and the University's first NCAA post-season competitor in golf. He has also seen the team finish second in the league four times since SUU golf began competing in the Mid-Con in 1997-98, including a second-place finish the last two years.

@^&A 1989 graduate of the University of Utah, Church owns and operates the Blue Pine Motel in nearby Panguitch, Utah. He has overseen the establishment of the Southern Utah University Golf Endowment Fund and has been active in numerous political campaigns, both in Utah and in Washington D.C.

@^&Church and his wife, Cheryl, are the parents of four children, Justin (19), Kyle (17), Josh (16) and Breanne (13).
