Anthony Arceneaux

Special Teams Coordinator | Inside Receivers | TE

Utah ‘02

2020: 6th Season at SUU, 5th as Assistant Coach

Anthony Arceneaux was named Special Teams Coordinator by Head Coach Demario Warren in March 2016. He also coaches the inside wide receivers and tight ends on the offensive side of the ball.

A pair of inside WR’s under the direction of Arceneaux had a major impact on the Thunderbird offense during the 2019 season. Lance Lawson caught 78 passes for 735 yards and three touchdowns. He was amongst the FCS leaders in catches all season long. In just seven games, Landen Measom caught 28 passes for 463 yards and one touchdown. He averaged 16.5 yards per catch.

Thunderbird punters found a lot of success during the 2019 season as well. Between Manny Berz and Brandon Schenks, they downed 13 punts inside the 20 yard line and had five punts travel further than 50 yards.

Both kicker Manny Berz and punter Rashaan Miller have very successful seasons for the Thunderbirds under his leadership in 2017. Berz finished the season with 41 PAT’s to his name and 14-of-18 on field goal attempts. Miller was named Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week during the course of the season and was named Honorable Mention All-Big Sky following the conclusion of the season.

Arceneaux comes to SUU from Chaffey College in southern California where he was the wide receivers coach last season. He coached the receivers the year before at Western New Mexico University.

Anthony started his college coaching career as a volunteer assistant wide receivers coach at Southern Utah University in January of 2014.

He completed a Master's Degree in Human Performance and Sport from New Mexico Highlands University in 2016.

Arceneaux has also spent time with those in the National Football League, as he was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers coaching staff to receive a Bill Walsh Coaching Fellowship Internship, where he worked with both the offensive and special teams staff during Mini camp.

After completing his career as a wide receiver at University of Utah, Arceneaux played for three teams in the AFL and for the Hamilton Tigercats in the CFL. He also coached for several years at Saint Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
