At SUU, 2008: Earned first-team all-GWC and honorable-mention all-America honors last season after leading the conference and ranking eighth in the country in overall punting average at 42.78 ypp. Pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line 18 times and had 16 punts travel over 50 yards, including a school-record 91-yarder at Air Force. GWC player of the week twice and national player of the week after the Air Force game. A major factor in team’s No. 6 national ranking in net punting at 35.89 ypp. His 42.8 yards per punt average is the second-best in SUU history his career average of 41.11 ypp is fifth.

At SUU, 2007: Earned honorable mention all-GWFC honors after punting 60 times for 2,348 yards and pinning the opponent inside the 20-yard line 17 times.

At SUU, 2004: Averaged 41.3 yards per punt as a true freshman whe he booted 44 balls 1,819 yards with 11 kicks inside the 20 yard line, earning honorable mention all-Great West Football Conference recognition for his efforts.

Personal: Prepped at Bonneville High School, where he earned first-team all-state and all-region recognition following his  senior season when he helped the Lakers to a region championship. Finished with over 950 receiving yards and averaged 42.5 yards per punt his senior season. Also lettered in basketball and track, earning a region title in the discus and finishing fourth at the state meet. Was an honor roll student as well. Wife is Laura, parents are Richele Ward and Lenn Ward. Served an LDS church mission to South Korea. Majoring in business education.
