Before SUU 

Golden West College:

• Played one season with Golden West
• Was named the Southern California Football Association Offensive Player of the Year
• Burns completed 158 of 256 passes (61.7%) for 1,857 yards and 22 touchdowns
• Added 650 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground.
• He also led the league with a total of 29 touchdowns while finishing second with 22 throwing TD's and fourth with seven rushing on the season. 

At Texas Tech:

• Played two seasons of baseball for the Red Raiders while also being on the roster as a quarterback for the 2023 season.

High School:

• Playing baseball he earned First Team Sea View League recognition as a junior in 2022, he hit .333 with five homers, 10 doubles, and an on-base percentage of 1.001 in 29 games
• The dual-sport athlete was the Sea View League co-MVP in football, at quarterback, in the fall 2022 season
• He racked up 3,458 total yards, with 25 passing touchdowns and nine rushing touchdowns over 10 games helping lead the team to a 7-4 overall record.
